Description

Carry your essentials with purpose in this 'Every Child Matters' recycled eco-bag. To learn more about the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, visit our blog, "A Truth Not Fully Told" featuring this bag. Sturdy, spacious, and vivid in colour, this eco-friendly reusable tote keeps items safe with a zippered top, inside pocket, and water-resistant surface. The hand design was an idea from local high school teachers. They had asked the artist, Gitxsan Michelle Stoney, to create a design to honour the local survivors. In the palm is Stigyoden, the local mountain in the Gitxsan Nation in Northern British Columbia. Surrounding the mountain are flowers, which in our language are called majagalee, meaning children. And on top, representing the fingers are the feathers, which honour the children who never made it home. Each bag is made with 100% recycled plastic bottles and measures 39 cm deep (15"), 34.5 cm wide (14"), with a 10 cm gusset (4").

This product is designed by indigenous artists. All artists have provided consent and contractual permission for their art to be featured on these items. Artist names are acknowledged on all product packaging. Cultural traditions are honored by acknowledging cultural affiliation on product packaging. Artists are paid in fees and royalties.

The below size chart converts UK, EU and US foot sizes. The cm measurement is to be measured from your heel to your toe. Most of our shoes fit the same as your regular shoe size, however each individual product has information with recommended sizing. Please see individual product page for more detailed sizing recommendations. Please also click on this link for a PDF printout to help you with child sizing. *Be sure to cross-reference this chart with the specific product page size recommendations. (If this chart says you are an 8½, but our product page recommends ordering a size 7 for a US 8½, order accordingly) 

 

 

All returns must have a RA (return authorization) on the label, please contact us first via email and we'll provide a RMA number and the address to return to.

Alternatively you can email us at info@thebrownbear.ca, and state your order number, and what you'd like (refund or exchange). If you have not received an answer within 48 hours, please be sure to check your junk, or promotions folder, in case our response went there. 

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, please return it in its original condition WITHIN 30 DAYS OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE - (NO EXCEPTIONS)*  for an exchange or refund.  DO NOT write or label the box, please wrap it first.

If a refund is required, only the purchase and taxes will be refunded, not the shipping. Please note that the customer pays for return shipping via POSTAL SERVICE. We cannot accept any COD return. Indicate clearly "RETURN FOR EXCHANGE ONLY".

Please note that should a partial return for refund be the case,  which would cause your order to no longer qualify for free shipping, shipping charges will be subtracted from your refund.

Please note that when a refund is requested on returns made that had Black Friday/Cyber Monday discounts may result in your order not qualifying for those discounts. The amount refunded will reflect which discount category your remaining order qualifies for (or doesn't qualify for).

Return period is extended for Christmas orders. Please be sure to contact us by January 15 to facilitate returns/exchanges of Christmas gifts.
